CNHFA Organises Meeting to Promote Health Food New Function Development

On 7th March, the China National Health Food Association (CNHFA) organised a meeting to promote the development of new functions for health food. The meeting featured esteemed guests including Wan Chao, Director of the Health Food Registration Division at the Department of Special Food, State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR); Wang Xiaojing and Xin Mintong, both First Class Researchers; Liu Hongyu, Director of the Health Food Functional evaluation Department at SAMR's Centre for Food Review; and Xu Haibin, an expert from the Working Group on Health Food's New Function Promotion. Alongside, representatives from various enterprises such as Amway, Aland, Chenguang Biotech, Haleon, Mengniu Dairy, Nubeone, By-health, Sirio, and Reckitt, participated in the meeting either remotely or in person.


The session commenced with introductory remarks by Guo Haifeng, Secretary General of the CNHFA's Health Food R&D Specialised Committee, and Xu Haibin, an expert from the New Function Promotion Working Group. They provided insights into preliminary research on new functions and methods for function evaluation, respectively. Delegates engaged in discussions on promoting health food's new functions, efficacy evaluation criteria, innovative development paths for evaluation methods, and detailed issues regarding raw material quality standards.


Looking ahead, the CNHFA working group will incorporate the outcomes of the meeting into their plans to effectively advance the next steps.
