On March 22, a serial publicity activity with the theme of “Little Blue Flower” (the characteristic logo for Food for Special Medical Purposes in China) took place at the Huayuan Road Community Health Service Centre of Haidian District, Beijing, China. Ms. Gu Xinxin, Chairperson of the CNHFA’s Foods for Special Medical Purpose Sub-committee, stated that the demand and supply of FSMPs are still unbalanced. She said that as a producer, we are not only concerned about high-quality research and development but also about the channels through which FSMPs enter medical institutions or community health centres after they are listed on the market. She urged more representatives of enterprises and related parties to widely promote FSMPs to address the challenges faced by the “silver hair economy”.

During the event, the individual responsible for the SAMR’s Department of Special Food Safety Supervision and Management addressed reporters' inquiries regarding consumer rights and interests concerning FSMPs, the application of FSMPs for rare diseases, and the recent revisions to the Administrative Measures for Registration of Formulas for Special Medical Purposes. Additionally, representatives from the Special Food Safety Supervision & Management Department of Beijing SAMR fielded questions about the production and operation of FSMPs in Beijing, as well as strategies to foster the growth of the FSMP industry amid the government’s recent movement to decentralise non-capital functions of Beijing.
At the conclusion of the event, officials from SAMR’s Department of Special Food Safety Supervision and Regulation and the Department of News and Publicity, along with grassroots market supervision departments, community service center heads, doctors, and other representatives, jointly launched the release ceremony of the “Little Blue Flower” brochures and posters to enhance its visibility.
